Organ Donor 48″x60″ Acrylic and Oil on Tile Board, 2014.

Organ Donor 3000 By CAM is a towering robot, turned 3D printer that is also an organ donor. This might sound unearthly; however I read an article the other day about 3D printers and their future impact. Eventually they will be capable of printing everything including technical devices, firearms and even human organs. With a bit of perplexity the robot is looking forward, right and left. The colors express the madness of this developing apparatus. This idea was sparked from a few Picasso pieces that I was looking at. I continued to add paint in an unorganized manner until I felt that it was finished. Most viewers notice multiple faces and some other body parts including the ribs, hands and heart. The colors that pop out the most are red and yellow. Organ Donor 3000 has been featured by “Abstract and Interesting” and “Scant Gallery.” Modern technology is an evolving entity that has overtaken the way people use to live and has consumed lives as much as people have consumed it. Organ Donor 3000 expresses the link between technology and the growing future in everyday life. It is frightening that one day we may need to depend on robots for goods and services, as if we don’t already.
