Bear Hugs 48″x48″ Acrylic, Oil and Ink on Tile Board, Framed; 2014.

“Bear Hugs” is done in one of my favorite styles of art to create, neo-expressionism! It is full of color combinations, a full on art attack of tan, orange, red, yellow, brown and Sienna. The strong arm located in the top right refers to hugs. For example, a male figure is hugging a diet coke bottle. Next to the man grasping the bottle the word Adderall is written multiple times. The correlation between the two is that Adderall is like diet cocaine. Relax spelt backwards portrays my state of mind while creating this piece, meaning that the whole concept was so wild there was no way to relax. The bear eating honey is meant to show that the addiction has been satisfied. Ursus is the primior part of the Bears genus. Grass is sprawled out across the bottom in addition to a Native American riding a horse. Bear Hugs are a great big piece of artwork containing multiple images and typography.
